Knot Invariants from Classical Field Theories

چکیده
We consider the Non-Abelian Chern-Simons term coupled to external particles, in a gauge and diffeomorphism invariant form. The classical equations of motion are perturbativelly studied, and the on-shell action is shown to produce knot-invariants associated with the sources. The first contributions are explicitely calculated, and the corresponding knot-invariants are recognized. We conclude that the interplay between Knot Theory and Topological Field Theories is manifested not only at the quantum level, but in a classical context as well.

Knot invariants from rational conformal field theories
A framework for studying knot and link invariants from any rational conformal field theory is developed. In particular, minimal models, superconformal models and WN models are studied. The invariants are related to the invariants obtained from the Wess-Zumino models associated with the coset representations of these models. Possible Chern-Simons representation of these models is also indicated....
متن کاملLogarithmic Knot Invariants Arising from Restricted Quantum Groups
We construct knot invariants from the radical part of projective modules of the restricted quantum group Uq(sl2) at q = exp(π √ −1/p), and we also show a relation between these invariants and the colored Alexander invariants. These projective modules are related to logarithmic conformal field theories.
متن کاملGeneralizations of Quandle Cocycle Invariants and Alexander Modules from Quandle Modules
Quandle cohomology theory was developed [5] to define invariants of classical knots and knotted surfaces in state-sum form, called quandle cocycle (knot) invariants. The quandle cohomology theory is a modification of rack cohomology theory which was defined in [11]. The cocycle knot invariants are analogous in their definitions to the Dijkgraaf-Witten invariants [8] of triangulated 3-manifolds ...
متن کاملRepresentations of Composite Braids and Invariants for Mutant Knots and Links in Chern - Simons Field Theories
We show that any of the new knot invariants obtained from Chern-Simons theory based on an arbitrary non-abelian gauge group do not distinguish isotopically inequivalent mutant knots and links. In an attempt to distinguish these knots and links, we study Murakami (symmetrized version) r-strand composite braids. Salient features of the theory of such composite braids are presented. Representation...
متن کاملDuality and Topological Quantum Field Theory *
We present a summary of the applications of duality to Donaldson-Witten theory and its generalizations. Special emphasis is made on the computation of Don-aldson invariants in terms of Seiberg-Witten invariants using recent results in N = 2 supersymmetric gauge theory. A brief account on the invariants obtained in the theory of non-abelian monopoles is also presented. Topological quantum field ...
